Short bio

Tommaso Belvedere is currently a Postdoctoral researcher at CNRS-IRISA in Rennes, France, since June 2024. His current research focuses on developing real-time optimization-based algorithms for robust planning of robots subject to non negligible parametric uncertainties.

He received his PhD in Automatic Control from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, as part of the PhD program in Automatic Control, Bioengineering and Operations Research in the Department of Computer, Control, and Management Engineering. His PhD work was centered around the development of Model Predictive Control strategies for non-minimum phase systems including articulated vehicles, wheeled balancing robots, and humanoid robots. During his PhD, he was also a Visiting PhD Student in the Rainbow Team, working on Robust MPC for quadrotor control.

In addition to his research activities, Tommaso serves as an Associate Editor for robotics conferences, including ICRA 2025 and IROS 2025.
