Guillaume Vailland
Phd Student, INSA
Short Bio
I’m an engineer in computer science graduated in 2018 by the engineering school INSA Rennes. Right after my graduation, I decided to continue my studies with a Phd. My Phd title is “Power Wheelchair Assisted Navigation in outdoors environment : Reality versus Virtuality” and is part of the European Intereg ADAPT project that aims to develop solutions to increase mobility of people with impairments.
My main goal is to secure and enhanced power wheelchair navigation in a populated environment with dynamic obstacles. To achieve that, I work on a virtual power wheelchair simulator to train patient and also on path planning algorithm to avoid collisions and difficult paths.
