Vincent Baltazart

Vincent Baltazart

I am a research scientist (CR) at Université Gustave Eiffel (formerly Ifsttar) in Nantes.

Research interests / field of activity

  • GPR signal processing for subsurface survey, fault detection and characterization
  • Image processing for monitoring the surface conditions of civil engineering materials
  • Vibration-based SHM from video flows
  • Sensors

Short bio

I received the PhD degree in signal processing and telecommunications from the University of Rennes I, France, in 1994. From 1992 to 1993, I worked on modelling ionospheric propagation at IPS Radio and Space Services in Sydney. From 1994 to 1996, I worked on microwave remote sensing techniques at the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. In 1996, I joined the Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris, as a researcher in the field of optical sensors for civil engineering applications. In 2001, I moved to Ifsttar-Nantes for successively using signal and image processing for Non-Destructive Testing and Evaluation (NDT&E), and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) applications within two different teams.  Ifsttar became Université Gustave Eiffel (UGE) in 2020.
