Alvaro Gavilán Rojas

I am a PhD candidate at Inria Rennes under the supervision of Christophe Droz and Qinghua Zhang since Oct. 2022.

Research interests / field of activity

I am working on the development of innovative Guided Wave Testing (GWT) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) models and indicators to enhance damage detection, localization and quantification capabilities in large-scale periodic media (e.g. lightweight structures and metamaterials).

Short bio

I received my Civil Engineer diploma from FIUNA (Paraguay) on August, 2021. After that, I started a Master degree in Mechanics, Materials and Structures for Construction and Transports (MMSCT) at the Gustave Eiffel University (UGE). I work since 2017 with some non-destructive testing wave methods of concrete structures, such as pile integrity testing, pile dynamic testing and modal analysis.
