Examples of gradient flows based on optimal transport of differential forms
Abstract:
Optimal transport theory has been a powerful tool for the analysis and
the computation of parabolic equations viewed as gradient flows of
volume forms according to suitable transportation metrics.
In this talk, we present two examples of gradient flows for closed
(d-1)-forms in R^d.
Both can be viewed as the Eulerian version of some suitable heat
equation for curves in the Euclidean space (including the so-called
curve-shortening flow).
