Supervisor

Supervisor layer is the core of Odin. It is here that are performed queries to the different devices to retrieve the values of the sensors, data logging, calculation of observers and controllers, sending instructions to the devices and the information on the display .. .

Data:

By default, raw data (date and value) is recorded for each sensor but you may wish to use them with an other formats. We propose an export in the following formats :

  • CSV (spreadsheet for Excel or libreOffice)
  • XML (one file for each sensor/actuator and for each iteration with information and the value)
  • PlantML (XML format more rich used by some project with the possibilitie to regroup data by group name)

Controllers :

This is one of the strengths of Odin compared to other competitors in the market, We provide from advanced algorithms (written in Scilab) to send instructions to actuators to regulate an process. It is also possible for the purpose of validation of certain variables algorithms to create an observer (not usable by other monitors).

In Input, it takes data from sensors or observers and product order for actuators and one or more variable estimate.

For more information on controllers, you can look on the part of the tutorial associated – click here

Observers :

They have the same construction that controllers but allow you to define virtual sensors.

In input, it takes data from sensors or other observers and product out one or more variable estimated.

For more information on observers, you can look on the part of the tutorial associated –  click here

Sequence process :

They perform a series of actions (retrieve the value of a sensor, give an order to an actuator, starting a controller) out of the conventional loops.

They have their own loop.

In the biological field, they were added to allow to stop some actuators of a bioreactor to get the time to take samples.

For more information on the process sequences, You can look on the part of the tutorial associated with them – put the link
