CEDAR at BDA 2021

CEDAR team participated in the 37th conference of Data Management “BDA” held online and in Ecole Normal Superieure of Paris between 25 and 28 October 2021.

 

The team participated in two short papers:

  1. Efficiently identifying pseudo-nulls in heterogeneous text data” authored by Théo Bouganim, Helena Galhardas and Ioana Manolescu.
  2. Toward Generic Abstractions for Data of Any Model” authored by Nelly Barret, Ioana Manolescu and Prajna Upadhyay.

In addition the team participated in two long papers:

  1. Efficient Exploration of Interesting Aggregates in RDF Graphs” authored by Yanlei Diao, Pawel Guzewicz, Ioana Manolescu and Mirjana Mazuran.
  2. HADAD: A Lightweight Approach for Optimizing Hybrid Complex Analytics Queries” authored by Rana Al-Otaibi, Bogdan Cautis, Alin Deutsch and Ioana Manolescu.

The second paper received the best paper award.

The team also presented two demos:

  1.  “Discovering Conflicts of Interest across Heterogeneous Data Sources with ConnectionLens”  by Angelos-Christos Anadiotis, Oana Balalou, Théo Bouganim, Francesco Chimienti, Helena Galhardas, Yamen Haddad, Stéphane Horel, Ioana Manolescu, Youssr Youssef
  2. A Demonstration of the Exathlon Benchmarking Platform for Explainable Anomaly Detection” by Vincent Jacob, Fei Song, Arnaud Stiegler, Bijan Rad, Yanlei Diao and Nesime Tatbul.

and a PhD paper titled “Facilitating Heterogeneous Dataset Understanding” by Nelly Barret.

The team also had the chance to connect and discuss with other teams participating in the conference.
