Title: Resource Management within a Datacenter Partially Supplied with Renewable Energies

The postdoc position takes place within the European project DC4Cities (http://www.dc4cities.eu). The project aims at bringing Datacenters as good citizens by making them rely on renewable energies. The consortium is spread over 5 countries. It is composed by 10 partners in different fields of activity such as large IT industries, research labs, SMEs, universities, but also a smart-city authority and a national agency for sustainable development. These partners will provide practical use case and data from industry but also a background in terms of energy-oriented management, and feedback on the applicability of our methods.
The selected applicant we will work on the following domains: SLA adaptation, resource management (IaaS or PaaS level), autonomic computing. In particular, we will investigate on how to adapt applications scheduling or design according to the availability of renewable resources. It is expected for the applicant to have a Phd in Computer Science, skills in cloud computing, resource management and/or combinatorial optimisation. The candidate must also have good programming skills and should be confortable in communication and scientific writing.
