Factors of mental health: an imaging epidemiological approach

How do we develop brain-imaging based predictors of psychological traits ?

PhD project supported by: CORDI-S (INRIA)

PhD student: Kamalaker Reddy Dadi

Supervisors: Gaël Varoquaux, Denis-Alexander Engemann, Bertrand Thirion (Parietal team, INRIA) in collaboration with Josselin Houenou (Psychiatry team, UNIACT)

This project is designed as two-step procedure:

  1. How do we develop brain-imaging based predictors of psychological traits ?
  2. How do we transfer learned from step 1 to specific clinical question ?

Analysis procedure:

Stage 1: involves learning an imaging-based biomarker of behavioral phenotypes. This stage demands for understanding the strong relationship between brain and behavior based on epidemiology containing extensive questionnaires, cognitive measures and behavioral variables or genetics.

Stage 2: is cross-cohorts study of behavioral phenotype from stage 1 to psychiatry (Schizophrenia or Autism).

Project design: two-stage epidemiological approach based on large-scale population cohorts.
