Our former PhD student Nicolas Le Touz received the Abertis Prize France for his thesis « Design and study of positive energy transport infrastructure: from thermomechanical modelling to the optimisation of such energy systems« , defended in November 2018. The Abertis Prize is awarded for research in transport infrastructure management.

Scientific Prize from EDF R&D for Nassif Berrabah

Nassif Berrabah, industrial PhD student of the I4S Team in collaboration with EDF, has defended his thesis on « Inverse problems for diagnosis of electric cables from reflectometry measurements » in November 2017. The research work of his thesis received the award of Scientific Prize from EDF R&D. Congratulations!

Best paper award at International Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring for Railway Systems 2018

VINCI 2017 Innovation Award

The Structual Health Monitoring system developed by Ifsttar and SDEL-CC for lightning detection and localization on electrical lines, has received the VINCI Innovation Award for Western France 2017. Congratulations to our team member Vincent Le Cam!

 

Best Innovative Paper Award at IOMAC 2017

Our paper « Variance computation of modal parameters estimates from UPC subspace identification » has won the Best Innovative Paper Award at IOMAC (International Operational Modal Analysis Conference) 2017. Authors are team members Michael Doehler, Laurent Mevel and our industrial partner Palle Andersen (Structural Vibration Solutions A/S, Denmark).

European Railway Cluster Prize

The PEDAL-LORA monitoring sensor has been awarded the European Railway Cluster Prize in railway innovation. The sensor has been developed in the I4S team by Vincent Le Cam and Ifsttar’s engineers for monitoring of detection pedals, used for train passage detection.

Demonstrator for soft fault diagnosis in electrical cables

Inverse Scattering for Transmission Lines (ISTL) is an efficient tool for real-time soft fault diagnosis in electrical cables, developed by the team. A demonstrator is now available in the showroom at Inria Rennes, as well as a demonstration video.

Uncertainty quantification for modal analysis in ARTeMIS software

Our methods for efficient uncertainty quantification for subspace-based modal analysis have been integrated into the ARTeMIS software of our industrial partner Structural Vibration Solutions A/S. They are released with the new version ARTeMIS Modal Pro 5.0, see details in the newsletter.

Startup launch ‘ecotropy’

Alexandre Nassiopoulos has left the I4S team for the launch of the startup ecotropy. The company deals with the energy assessment and management of buildings, and builds upon the research in the I4S team at IFSTTAR. Jordan Brouns, former PhD student and postdoc in the team, is CTO.
