Davide Ceolin: “My Quest for Quality – Transparent Information Quality Assessment using Explainable AI Methods”

For our upcoming team seminar, we are pleased to host Mr. Davide Ceolin, a senior researcher at CWI from the Human-Centered Data Analytics group. The seminar will take place on October 1st at 2:00 PM in Room Philippe Flajolet (Room 2017, Alan Turing Building, Palaiseau).

My Quest for Quality – Transparent Information Quality Assessment using Explainable AI Methods

Abstract:

In this talk, I will overview my research on contrasting misinformation through information quality assessment. I will begin by presenting insights on the use of crowdsourcing for fact-checking political statements. Then, I will present our work on using computational argumentation to analyze product reviews. I will conclude by presenting our work on toxic meme detection.

Bio: 

Davide Ceolin is a senior CWI researcher in the Human-Centered Data Analytics group. His research focuses on transparently predicting multiple aspects of information quality.
He is a member of the AI, Media, and Democracy lab, a multidisciplinary lab that studies in depth the effects and implications of AI for Media and Democracy.
