Junior research scientist position

As a public research institution, Inria mainly recruits its permanent staff, researchers (grade “normal” class), by a competitive recruitment procedure. This competition happens every year with a similar schedule. Different types of positions are offered:

The Biovision team from Inria Sophia Antipolis Méditerranée welcomes applications of highly qualified candidates in the field of computational neuroscience and vision science with a strong interest in low vision. The selection process is national but your application will target a specific team that will support your application. For that reason, there is a two-step process which is explained in more details below: Step 1: see if we can build together a solid research project that match Biovision objectives, Step 2: go through the national recruiting campaign.

Typical timetable:

  • Before October (year N): The candidates are strongly advised to get in touch with us as soon as possible, by submitting their information through this form. Note that this step is only there to start exchanging with the team and build your project with them. Interested applicants are also free to email us directly to discuss potential fit with the lab prior to applying.
  • February (year N+1): Upon approval of your application by the team faculty, the candidates will have to go through the national recruiting campaign. The application, about 15-20 pages long, includes a summary of past research and future projects and can be in English.
  • From March to June (year N+1): The short-listing decision of candidates is due by end of March. Short-listed candidates will be invited for an oral presentation by the beginning of May. Final hiring decisions are made in June.
  • October (year N+1): Job  starts
