Tarantola program

Universities Paris 6 (UPMC) and Paris 7 (Paris Diderot / IPGP) launched a scientific program called Tarantola at the crossroads between mathematics and geophysics. A thematic day will be held on September 9th 2013 at IPGP (Subway: Jussieu). The schedule:

• 9.00-9.15 : Welcome session
• 9.15-9.30 : Introduction by Benoit Perthame (Head of LJLL) and Nikolai Shapiro (Deputy Head of IPGP)
• 9.30-10.00 : “Imagerie par correlations de bruit” (Josselin Garnier)
• 10.00-10.30 : “Assimilation d’ensemble d’observations géomagnétiques” (Alexandre Fournier)
• 10.30-11.00 : “COBRA : agrégation de prédicteurs” (Gérard Biau)
• 11.00-11.30 : coffee break
• 11.30-12.00 : “Propagation d’ondes” (Jean-Pierre Vilotte)
• 12.00-12.30 : “Reduced basis methods” (Yvon Maday)
