The biennal congress of the French Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (SMAI) took place in Seignosse (Landes) from May 27 to May 31. It was the occasion for some ANGE members to get involved in the framework of the UNESCO year of mathematics through the organization of the congress (E. Audusse, Y. Penel). For instance, they organized some mini-symposia whose themes were about social influence of people upon cities and about sediment transport.
