[2013 – 2017] CENTAUR project – Crowded ENvironments moniToring for Activity Understanding and Recognition

CENTAUR is a FP7-PEOPLE-2012-IAPP European Project – Marie Curie – (number 324359) which has started on the 1st of January 2013 and will last 48 months. INRIA Grant is 190.1 Keuros.

CENTAUR aims at developing a network of scientific excellence addressing research topics in computer vision and advancing the state of the art in video surveillance. The cross fertilization of ideas and technology between academia, research institutions and industry will lay the foundations to new methodologies and commercial solutions for monitoring crowded scenes.Three thrusts identified will enable the monitoring of crowded scenes: a) multi camera, multicoverage tracking of objects of interest, b) Anomaly detection and fusion of multimodal sensors, c) activity recognition and behavior analysis in crowded environments.

The prime partner is Honeywell (Czech Republic) and other partners are: Neovison (Czech Republic), INRIA Sophia-Antipolis, Queen Mary University of London and EPFL in Lausanne.
