The Digital Health PEPR , launched in June 2023 as part of the Health Innovation Plan 2030, is a major initiative in the “Digital Health” acceleration strategy with a programme dedicated to stimulating scientific research in this field.
SMATCH “Statistical and AI Methods for the Challenges of Modern Clinical Trials in Digital Health” is one of the 17 projects prioritised for funding under the first action of the Digital Health PEPR.
🌐 The project is coordinated by Sarah Zohar and Rodolphe Thiebaut and brings together 16 French research teams located in Lille, Paris, Tours, Saclay, Rennes, Poitiers, Bordeaux and Montpellier.
🎯 The project is structured around several work packages on the following topics:
1️⃣ New clinical trial methods and designs based on the transition from animal to human, research-based disease models,
2️⃣ Enriching clinical trials with multi-source and multi-dimensional ancillary data,
3️⃣ Next-generation designs for the clinical evaluation of digital medical devices based on AI algorithms,
4️⃣ Regulation, feasibility and dissemination of clinical trials
