Artificial Intelligence and Information Warfare Workshop, London

The Franco-British Council in partnership with Inria and the Franco-British Data Society hosted a one-day seminar on “Artificial Intelligence and Information Warfare” in July 2024 at University College London. Hervé Mariton, Chair of the Conseil franco-britannique, noted the seminar’s focus on practical applications and implications for democracy, media, and public debate.

CEDAR marked its presence in the workshop. Simon Ebel and Théo Galizzi presented StatCheck, a fact-checking system designed for particularly handling statistical claims, in the workshop.
Garima Gaur participated in a panel discussion with Dr. Benjamin Guedj (Director of Research at Inria, Professor of Machine Learning and Foundational AI at University College London, and Turing Fellow) and also got a chance to present FactCheckBureau, an end-to-end tool that can help researchers to interactively and quickly design, evaluate and deploy their fact check retrieval pipeline.
