Projects of the team will be influenced by the world dynamics about sustainable development and ecology as UNESCO decided to claim 2013 year for “Mathematics of Planet Earth”. The launching ceremony was held on March, 5th at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.
Many scientific events are labelled “2013: MPE” and most members of the team are involved. More details here. In particular, a striking initiative is “Un jour, une brève” where mathematicians provide examples of application of mathematics to ecology.
