Projects

The projects I have worked on in a former life are described here.

Work

My main research interest is decisional autonomy, composed of task planning (how to chain actions to reach given goals?), agent architectures (how to organize costly decisional components into an agent which has to react as well?) and multi-agent systems (the societal metaphor). Secondary research interests include knowledge engineering (ontology, expert systems) and combinatorial optimization (how to take a good decision in a reasonable time?).

I am currently working on an ontology with inference rules for an automated vehicle to sometimes relax traffic regulations in unusual but practical traffic situations. When I have time, I intend to work on relating statistical physics to constraint programming (and not only to SAT solvers), and on scheduling for automated vehicles in a stop network. Finally, my ever-lasting goal is to unify the discrete (symbolic) and continuous (probabilistic) worlds (my own Higgs boson).
