Bio
Clemente Donoso is an Electronic Engineer and a Computer Engineer currently working as a Research and Development Engineer at INRIA Nancy (HUCEBOT Team). His primary focus is the ATOR (Assisted Teleoperation Of Robots) project, where he develops applications for teleoperating robots and visualizing their states in real time, alongside creating ROS packages and other necessary software for the team. In this context, he advocates the use of virtual reality technologies to achieve intuitive and efficient control of bimanual robots.
Before joining INRIA, he worked at SK Godelius, Chile (2023–2024) on the development of QG Scout and CG Scout. QG Scout is an autonomous mobile robot designed for geological exploration and environmental sampling, capable of autonomously navigating outdoor environments, avoiding obstacles, and following predefined paths while taking samples at specific points of interest. Meanwhile, CG Scout is an autonomous mobile platform for conveyor belt inspection. It gathers image, thermal, and audio data from the belt, detecting defects and anomalies in real time, processing the information locally, and transmitting results to the cloud. Throughout these projects, he also contributed to the development of autonomous navigation packages suited to a variety of hostile and changing environments.
