Internship on the optimal control of cell populations

Dec. 1, 2017: internship on the optimal control of cell population.

We wish to maximize a production process based on the activity of differentiated cells that follow a Kolmogorov (conservation) type equation, with diffusion. So this is a problem of optimal control of a partial differential equation of parabolic type.

The study will be both theoretical and numerical. For the numerical aspects we will use the bocop.org library.

Starting on April 1,2017.

Duration: 3-6 months

Open to Mastere 2 students or students in the last year of engineering schools.

Candidates should have a background in optimal control and the numerical analysis of partial differential equations, and an interest in biological systems.

The internship will be conducted in collaboration with the Lifeware/Inbio team hosted at Institut Pasteur.

In the framework of the Inria Project Lab (IPL) cosy, with Inria teams at Grenoble, Sophia, Paris.

Application: Vitae + motivation letter to Frederic.Bonnans@inria.fr, Pierre.Martinon@inria;fr
