Inria RITS team is a worldwide known team working on mobile robotics and autonomous navigation. The research topics cover Perception, Planning / Control, Communication and Large system modeling. RITS team is looking to reinforce its research staff and to extend researches to more complex environments: highly dynamic environments, roundabouts, cooperative driving, robust driving…
We are looking for an excellent candidate to take over a research position of planning/control for autonomous vehicle navigation. The candidate will conduct research activities, be involved in applied research projects, and will have people under his/her responsibility, mostly interns and possibly PhDs.

For that purpose we are looking for a candidate with at least 2 or 3 years’ experience after PhD to take in charge part of the planning and/or control research in our team. As an overview of the current research activities our experience covers the field of local/global planning, speed planning, vehicle control (fractional order controller, plug-and-play control, close loop identification). These techniques are validated on platooning (both Adaptive Cruise Control and Cooperative ACC) and maneuvers execution.

The candidate is supposed to work on current research activities and help on the supervision of existing researches (PhDs and interns). The candidate will work on both theoretical and applied research.

The team RITS has several autonomous prototypes and the candidate will be involved in dissemination and demonstration activities.

Duration will be a minimum of 1 year (up to 3 years), possibly extended.

 

Requirements

The candidate should have a very good knowledge in either planning or control (or both) and very good records in this field and if possible good experience in mobile robotics. Ideally, he or she should have experience in either planning or control (both is ideal). Experience in local planning, real-time dynamic planning, CACC, as well as previous experience in real prototypes demonstrations will be highly appreciated.

Location and Team

The job is located in very center of Paris (France), at the INRIA national research institute. RITS team (Robotics and Intelligent Transportation System) has approximately 30 people working on intelligent transportation system and several autonomous prototypes (to test/validate our researches). The environment is nice and lively, with people from worldwide origins.

Salary

Remuneration follows the official grid and depends on the candidate experience.
