EDF: Privacy Preserving Data Mining in P2P Networks (2013-2015)

This project, funded by a research contract with EDF, aims at developping new data mining techniques for P2P networks. The main goal is to preserve data privacy, while achieving good performance of analysis processes on the tackled data.

More precisely, each participant in the P2P network has its own individual data (e.g. results of experiments for a scientific partner) and all the participants would like to acquire knowledge computed on the whole dataset (i.e. the union of all the individual data on the peers). Meanwhile, participants want a guarantee that no other participant will be able to see their data. The P2P protocol we are developping will then be able to extract knowledge from the whole set of distributed data, while avoiding centralization, and guaranteeing data privacy for all peers.
