Title: Model Reduction in Thermal Engineering – Applications

Abstract: Despite the ever-increasing performance of computers, reduced models in thermal respond to an industrial demand: For example, in the case of satellites, the memory size allocated for thermal is imposed by ESA, and it is up to the industry to provide a thermal model that complies with it. For electronics, a parametric study of an electronic board containing several hundred components is unfeasible. This last example will be the main topic of the seminar: I will talk about modal substructuring methods and the bases chosen to properly address the conditions at the interface. I will also present the other activity of the team “thermique et énergie” at LMEE, which concerns the use of reduced models for the identification of sources or physical parameters.
