2019

10-14 June: BCAM mini-course by Fabien Campillo

  • Introduction to Piecewise Deterministic Markov Processes and applications to Neuroscience (webpage)
  • This 10-hour mini-course was followed by local, national and international Phd students and postdocs. It was aimed as an introduction to PDMPs for non-probabilists with a view towards neural dynamics, action potential generation and synaptic plasticity.
  • participants for NeuroTransSF: Mathieu Desroches and Serafim Rodrigues
  • Objectives for NeuroTransSF: discussing the possibility to adapt the multi-scale framework for differential neurotransmitter release to a stochastic environment.

22-26 July: meeting at BCAM

  • participants: Mathieu Desroches, Martin Krupa and Serafim Rodrigues
  • objective: discussing a preliminary extension of our multi-scale neurotransmitter release model (PNAS, 2016) to capture differential endocytosis. A minimal extension was derived and simulated; initial simulations were gathered in a working document.

21-31 August: meeting at Inria

  • participants: Fabien Campillo (part.), Mathieu Desroches, Guillaume Girier (part.), Louisiane Lemaire (part.), Martin Krupa and Serafim Rodrigues
  • objective: pursuing the simulation of the embryo of full vesicle cycle model aimed at capture differential exocytosis as well as endocytosis (kiss-n-stay vs kiss-n-run scenarios); summer internship of Guillaume Girier on a slow-fast analysis of a neural population model with synaptic resources.

28 September – 1 October: meeting at BCAM

  • participants: Mathieu Desroches and Serafim Rodrigues

  • participants: Mathieu Desroches, Tamas Fülöp and Serafim Rodrigues
  • objectives: participating to and giving a talk at the international symposium Biology of Aging: How to better intervene co-organised by Tamas Fülöp; we also discussed about a review article on Alzheimer’s Disease published in 2020 (see Publication page).
  • funding: BCAM
