Speaker: Meilof Veeningen (Philips Research) Title: Distributed Privacy-Preserving Data Mining in the Medical Domain Abstract: In the medical domain, the potential gains of mining data from multiple sources (such as healthcare providers and insurance companies) is well recognized: for instance, for medical research, treatment, or cost management. However, given the sensitivity of medical data, it is hard to bring this data together in one place to perform the analytics. In the context of the SODA project, Philips Research is looking at several use cases in which distributed privacy-preserving data mining techniques can help to tackle this problem. In this talk, I will discuss several of these use cases and possible solution directions.
