Overview

The INRIA Macaron team (common with Unistra and CNRS and part of IRMA) works on the construction of numerical methods and reduced models combining traditional approaches and learning methods. The aim is to improve the efficiency of numerical models while preserving the physical properties of PDEs and the convergence of methods. The team’s main focus is on the approximation of kinetic and hyperbolic PDEs. It is also interested in inverse problems in acoustics and optimal control.

Research directions

  • Scientific Machine Learning
  • Numerical methods for hyperbolic and kinetic equations
  • Reduced models for plasmas
  • Direct and inverse problem for acoustic/electromagnetic waves
  • Optimal control
