Welcome to the web page of the IMFIBIO Associate Team between COMMEDIA project-team (Inria, Sorbonne Université & CNRS) and of the UCL (University College of London) Department of Mathematics.

The purpose of the IMFIBIO Associate Team is to exploit the complementary expertise of both partners in mathematical analysis, numerical analysis, scientific computing and data assimilation in order to develop innovative forward and inverse techniques in the context of di↵erent cardiac and cardiovascular bio-medical applications.

The collaboration will focus on two research topics. First, we intend to address fundamental problems related to the computer simulation of cardiac valves dynamics using reduced and full models. Due to their complex motion and contact phenomena at high pressure-drops, cardiac valves are recognized as a major issue in the simulation of physiological cardiac hemodynamics. The second research axis is devoted to the interaction of numerical simulations with data. Our goal is to investigate data assimilation methods applied to blood flow and cardiac electrophysiology models. For this problem, we will explore innovative methods which simultaneously deliver robustness and accuracy.
