Domenico Vizzari

Domenico is a post-doctoral researcher at the University Gustave Eiffel – Nantes. He works on innovative pavements for the energy harvesting. He is co-author of a patent for a road infrastructure able to harvest energy from the solar radiation.

Research interests/field of activity:

Road infrastructure; road materials; energy harvesting; life cycle cost analysis.

Short Bio:

Domenico got his bachelor’s and master’s degree in Civil Engineering at the University Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria (Italy), where he collaborated with the laboratory of materials and infrastructures. In 2017, he moved to Nantes thanks to the European Project “SMARTI ETN”, in the role of fellow. In 2020, he got a PhD with a thesis titled “Mix-design of a novel semi-transparent layer for solar roads”. Since December 2021, he is collaborating with Ecotropy, a start-up involved in the energy and thermal efficiency of complex structures.
