Tutorial about Modelling and Control of Soft Robotic Manipulators, organized on April 24th, at the first IEEE-RAS International Conference on Soft Robotics – RoboSoft 2018, in Livorno, Italy.

Content of the workshop

Through a step-by-step tutorial, numerical mechanics for the design, the simulation and the control of soft robots are presented. The SOFA framework and our Soft-Robots plugins are used to simulate and control soft robots in real-time using the Finite Element Method. The main features of our software are illustrated: creation of the soft robot mechanical model using FEM, simulation with contact modeling, inverse model, and control methods.
