Facilities and equipment
Irisa and M2S laboratories share their experimental facilities.
ComBO benefits from priviledge access to two virtual reality plaforms Immersia (Irisa) and Immermove (M2S), grouped in a unique collaborative immersive platform named “ImmerSTAR” leaded by Georges Dumont.
Immersia
Description of the platform :
Backed by the Inria Rennes Bretagne-Atlantique centre and the IRISA laboratory, Immersia has immersive equipment that plunges users into a high-quality visual and auditory world. This 9.60-metre-long technological tool aims to enable interaction with a virtual world that is as realistic as possible. Immersia is primarily a research tool, open to the scientific community, whether regional, national or European, academic or industrial. Its collaborations within future investment programmes, such as the Comin Labs labex and the IRT B-Com, and European projects, have given Immersia visibility on a European scale.
The Immersia platform and its team have developed extensive expertise in the field of virtual reality and offer training, support and access to high-level equipment for professionals who need:
- immersive visualisation at scale 1
- interaction with their models
- collaborative work simulation
The Immersia VR platform is owned by IRISA and Inria. This platform is organised around a large immersive infrastructure and dedicated softwares. Immersia is in fact the third version of this VR platform.
