Seminar of Ambre Denis-Noël and Jean-Charles Briquet-Laugier on CoCoLab experimental platform

The CoCoLab experimental platform wishes to survey the use of PsychoPy and E-Prime software among its potential users. The aim of this questionnaire is to know which software the platform needs to equip itself with in order to best meet the needs of researchers. This questionnaire will take less than 5 minutes:

Title: Presentation of the experimental platform CoCoLab

When: 11 December 2020, 11h00

Where:  Visioconference (Zoom link for the meeting)

Speaker: Ambre Denis-Noël and Jean-Charles Briquet-Laugier

Institution: Complexity and Cognition Lab, MSHS Sud-Est, Université Côte d’Azur

Abstract: After a brief reminder of the history of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société Sud-Est (MSHS Sud-Est) platform, the aim of this seminar is to present the experimental material available at CoCoLab and the possibilities it offers for scientific research. The CoCoLab is equipped with state-of-the-art tools to collect and synchronize data from multiple sources (electrophysiological measurements, electroencephalography, facial recognition, olfactometry, oculometry), on a single workstation or on several at the same time. The platform is located on the Saint-Jean d’Angély 3 campus (06300) and can be used free of charge by all research laboratories of Université Côte d’Azur.

Short bios:

  • Ambre Denis-Noël – CoCoLab Project Engineer, PhD in Language Sciences. A. Denis-Noël defended her thesis in 2018, the topic of which was the representations involved in the processing of oral and written language as well as their time courses during isolated words and sentences processing in adults with and without dyslexia. A. Denis-Noël then worked on several studies and research engineering CDDs, both on problems related to language and dyslexia and on problems more related to psychophysics, particularly AMD. Since October 2020, she has been an engineer at CoCoLab and provides support to experimental projects according to their needs, which may include: design of experimental protocols, acquisition, management, data preparation, statistical processing of data, choice of existing methods, analysis of results and their dissemination.
  • Jean-Charles Briquet-Laugier – Secrétaire Général de la MSHS Sud-Est. Engineer and economist by training, J.-C. Briquet-Laugier held for nearly twenty years the position of administrative manager of a research unit in economics, CEMAFI. Since January 1, 2013, he has been Secretary General of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme et de la Société Sud-Est, a service and research unit (USR) of the CNRS. His main mission is to assist and advise the director of the unit (Tobias Scheer) in steering the structure and in decision-making. It also contributes to the achievement of the objectives of the structure, whose main missions include the animation of interdisciplinary research in SHS (and outside SHS), the provision of services to laboratories, and the development of technological platforms such as CoCoLab, a project initiated at MSHS Sud-Est in 2014 and carried out in 2018-2019.
