2019

  • R. Abgrall, G. Scovazzi, and M. Ricchiuto co-organise a mini-symposium on Recent Advances in Computational Fluid Dynamics, to be held during the 2019 International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics (ICIAM),  the premier international congress in  applied mathematics held every four years under the auspices of the International Council for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.  The 8th edition will be held from July 15 to 19, 2019  at Universidad de Valencia https://iciam2019.org

2018

  • A.J. Gil, G. Scovazzi, and M. Ricchiuto co-organise a mini-symposium on Advanced Variational Discretizations for Simulations of Complex Systems in Complex Geometry, to be held during the 6th European Conference on Computational Mechanics (ECCM6) concomitant with the 7th European Conference on Computational Fluid Dynamics (ECFD7), in Glasgow (UK), June 11-15, 2018.
  • M. Ricchiuto and M. Lorini in visit at Duke University in April 2018. On this occasion M. Ricchiuto has had the honour of acting as judge for the R.J. Melosh medal competition.
  • During the visit to Duke, M. Ricchiuto has given a  short course on the modelling of free surface flows

2017

  • L. Nouveau in visit to Inria BSO in December 2017
  • T. Song in visit to Inria BSO in November 2017 to finalize the work on the Shifted Boundary Method for shallow water flows
  • G. Scovazzi has been awarded a visiting scholar grant by the IdEX of the University of Bordeaux which has allowed him to visit Inria BSO during two months in summer 2017. During his visit, Prof. Scovazzi has given a 1-week course on ALE finite element methods for fluid flow
  • M. Ricchiuto and G. Scovazzi co-organize a mini-symposium on Nodal finite element methods for continuum mechanics problems in complex geometries at the July 2017 USNCCM conference in Montreal
  • On the occasion of the USNCCM conference H. Beaugendre has spent 3 weeks in Montreal to  present the work of the CARDAMOM team done within the HAMSTER team, as well as to visit F. Morency (École de Technologie Supérieure in Montréal) to extend some of this work to account for more physical models of ice blocks
