Category: General Adam Parusinski -- Equisingular families of surface singularities

24 September 2019

Consider a family of complex plane curve singularities X_t in C ^ 2 , where t is a complex parameter. There are many well known equivalent criteria that allow us to say that this family is equisingular: topological triviality, Whitney stratification, equiresolution or equi-Puiseux parameterization.

The purpose of this talk is to give an introduction to the next case, the families of surface singularities in C ^ 3 . In order to study them we use generic linear projections, the associated polar curves and discriminant loci.
