Archaeology

We develop new Bayesian tools for modeling data coming from different dating methods  (14C, OSL, archaeomagnetism ..) and from archaeological and environmental contexts.

Our work is structured along the following  axes:

  • modeling of an archaeological event  that reflects the concept of contemporaneity,
  • estimation  of  chronologies
  • age model for the luminescence dating.

All these  statistical tools are implemented in  the cross-platform ChronoModel application, which is free, open source software (FOSS).

This work is done in collaboration with Institut de recherche sur les Archéomatériaux-Centre de recherche en physique appliquée à l’archéologie (Université de Bordeaux Montaigne)
