Stéphanie VerdonckTeam AssistantShort biographyStéphanie has a bachelor’s degree in tourism. She worked for over 20 years in the tourism industry, with both tour operators and travel agencies, in Paris, then later in the South of France, on business platforms, notably with Arco Pharma and Virbac. Then, gradually, she moved to Monaco to work as a travel manager internally for companies. In a few words, a travel manager manages pricing and contracts directly with airlines, looks after their employees, supports them, advises them, and also creates travel policies. After a few years in Monaco, Stéphanie moved to Thailand for eight years, where she also worked in tourism in Bangkok. Stéphanie ran a travel agency that exclusively managed expatriate portfolios and she handled the accounts of expatriates who wanted to travel to Southeast Asia, and even as far away as Australia. And after this professionally enriching but physically very tiring and demanding experience, she became self-employed to continue traveling. Currently, she has a two-year contract at Inria, assistant for the Morpheme, Calisto & Acentauri team. She is also part of the AP Support team and she handle IDEX envelopes with Université Côte d’Azur for Inria employees. For Stéphanie, the AER’s job vision is to support, provide assistance, be there to point out budgetary issues when contracts expire, and explain what is feasible and what isn’t. Some researchers have been there for years and may have certain habits. We are also there to stimulate something new, a new dynamic, to take charge of new aspects of the team’s life such as taking care of the preparation of seminars, websites, etc. |
