Raffaele PumpoMaster studentShort bioRaffaele Pumpo graduated in Automation Engineering at University of Naples Federico II in 2022. Currently pursuing a double degree program European Master on Advanced Robotics (EMARO+) from Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France, and Università degli studi di Genova, Italy. He is doing an internship with ACENTAURI team at INRIA for his master thesis. His research focuses on the Integration of realistic Universal Social Force Models into a Model Predictive Controller for autonomous robot navigation in human populated environments. The Navigation in environments with human activity is complex and demands more than just functional autonomy. The challenge extends in not only satisfying the robotic tasks, but it involves also detecting and responding to human actions. The goal is to understand human behaviours and to integrate this understanding into the control mechanisms, ensuring the adaptability of robot motion to the dynamic and unpredictable movements of humans and the safety of the environment. Research InterestsHis research interests lie within the domain of robotics, on modelling and control fields, particularly in autonomous vehicle and innovative methodologies to enhance the autonomy, adaptability, and safety of vehicles. |
