Mohamed Ahmed MaloumPhD studentShort bioMohamed AHMED MALOUM graduated with an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering from École Polytechnique, France, in 2024. He also earned a double degree in Robotics and Autonomous Systems from ENSTA Paris the same year. From March to September 2023, he conducted a research internship at ASTEK’s Innovation Lab on drone geolocation using image matching, developing an algorithm to filter incorrect correspondences between real-time drone images and geo-referenced images. From April to October 2024, he worked on his master thesis at Safran Tech on deep learning methods for dense monocular SLAM, focusing on improving DROID-SLAM’s GPU memory efficiency. He is now pursuing a CIFRE PhD at Safran/Inria on advanced dense visual-inertial SLAM, leveraging AI techniques to enhance monocular and inertial data fusion. Research InterestsHis interests include autonomous robotics (navigation, decision-making, and perception for UAVs & AGVs), visual-inertial SLAM, computer vision, and deep learning. |
