Emmanuel AlaoPhD studentShort bioEmmanuel Alao graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at the Federal University of Technology Minna, Nigeria (2016), and with a Master’s degree in Control and Robotics, a specialisation in Advance Robotics (CORO IMARO), at Ecole Centrale de Nantes, France (2020). He did his internship at Inria Sophia Antipolis, on Uncertainty-aware collaborative navigation of robots in crowded environments, by computing an optimal trajectory over a given time horizon with the aim of preventing the Freezing robot problem in the framework of CROWDBOT, EU H2020 project. Then he worked as a Control and Robotics research engineer in the Mobi-deep project to develop and integrate an Autonomous navigation algorithm on a mobile robot to help guide visually impaired people and others with reduced mobility, 2020-2022. Emmanuel is currently doing his PhD program at Universite de Technologie de Compiegne, on Probabilistic risk assessment and management architecture for Autonomous vehicles. The PhD is a joint partnership between team ACENTAURI (Inria) and Heudiasyc (CNRS/UTC) in project ANNAPOLIS. Research InterestsHis research interest is centred on Autonomous robotics in terms of perception, path planning, risk assessment and management, decision-making, and control. With a keen interest in how to solve the road safety issues introduced by Powered Personal Mobility Platforms like scooters using an efficient combination of model-based and data-based approaches to autonomous navigation. |
