Diego Navarro Tellez

PhD student

Short bio

Graduated from the University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA) in France, where he got a degree on Automation and Robotics with speciality on Artifitial perception integrated to robotics. Ranked as the 1st student out of a group of 27, he started his PhD thesis on “Precise control and localization of multi-robot systems for structure inspection” in October 2021.

He first got his Professional licence as part of an international coperation program between France and Mexico (MEXPROTEC).
Then, back to Mexico, he got an engineering degree in Automation Technologies with focus on Industrial Mecatronics.
In parallel he worked as mechanical dessigner (~1 year), and PLC programmer (1 year).
Finally he returned to the academic field by returning to France to enroll in the UCA.

Research Interests

His main interests are the integration of artifitial perception and artifitial intelligence techniques in robotics and the use of such techologies in their decisional process.

His first research work was on machine learning techniques on object identification and gaze traking.
Then, in 2021, he did an intership on UAV autonomus landing with the team of SHERPA engineering, the project was part of the European project COMP4DRONES.
